Man stabbed and another injured in Leicester city centre fight
A man is in a serious condition in hospital after being stabbed during a fight in Leicester city centre. The attack happened on Granby Street in the early hours of this morning (Saturday, November 30) and saw a second man also suffer injuries.
Police were called to the scene in the city's Granby Street at around 2.15am following reports of a fight involving two men. One man had suffered a head wound believed to be caused by a glass or bottle, while the second had been stabbed during the altercation.
A cordon was in place for several hours in the wake of the assault. Leicestershire Police said the stabbing victim remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The cordon has since been lifted. Investigations into the incident are ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
A spokeswoman for the force said: "Police received a call at around 2.15am this morning (Saturday, November 30) after two men had been assaulted following a fight in the area of Granby Street, Leicester.
"During the incident, a man sustained a wound to his head with what was believed to be a glass or bottle, while a second man was stabbed. He remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition. A cordon, which was in place to allow enquiries at the scene to be carried out, has since been lifted. Our investigation remains ongoing and anyone with information can contact police."
