Man stabbed to death near St Paul’s Cathedral

A man has been stabbed to death near London’s iconic St Paul’s Cathedral.

The man was found seriously injured by City of London Police officers who were called to the scene on Gresham St at 11.30pm on Sunday.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene and given CPR before being taken by ambulance to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel. He later died of his injuries.

Police said they are still trying to ascertain the identity of the victim. No arrests have been made.

A crime scene remains in place on Gresham St with a blue car taped off outside the Lord Raglan Pub on St Martin’s Le Grand.

It comes after a man, in his 30s, was stabbed to death outside a bar on Greenwich High Road on Sunday morning.

British Transport and Metropolitan Police officers were called to Belushi’s on Greenwich High Road at 2.15am and found the victim with serious injuries.

He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service but died a short time later.
