Man suffers 'serious injuries' in collision on Anlaby Road
A 38-year-old man was injured when a car was involved in a collision with a taxi in Hull on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened in Anlaby Road at around 4.30pm. Humberside Police closed the road to traffic from Wilberforce Street to Park Street while Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Humberside Fire and Rescue worked at the scene.
The fire service rescued a man from a taxi by removing the door which had become damaged in the crash, as reported in its incident log. It said two people were treated for injuries at the scene. The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
A spokesperson for Humberside Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Anlaby Road in Hull at around 4.30pm on Sunday 17 November. It is reported that an Audi and a Ford collided while they were travelling down Anlaby Road.
"As a result of this collision the driver of the Ford was trapped in his vehicle, fire services assisted to rescue the driver. The 38-year-old male suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital. The injuries are thought to be non life-threatening.
"A road closure was put into place from Wilberforce Street to Park Street to allow emergency services to carry out their duties. Officers are continuing with enquiries to establish the exact circumstances leading up to the collision and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time or saw the vehicles prior to the collision, or has dashcam footage, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 347 of 17 November."
