Man suffers 'very nasty injuries' after Nottingham street fight
A Nottingham man has been left with 'very nasty injuries' after being stabbed during a street fight. Police were called to St Ann’s Way, St Ann’s, Nottingham, around 11pm on Sunday (24 November) following reports of an altercation between two men.
The victim, aged in his 30s, was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening. On the morning of Monday, November 25, Framework's Mechanics House on Alfred Street North was cordoned off by police officers, with the entrance to the building covered in blood.
Detective Inspector Lisa Jones, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The victim has been left with some very nasty injuries and officers are working hard on the investigation. We are trawling through CCTV footage and carrying out other inquiries in the local area. It is important anyone with any information or relevant dashcam, CCTV, doorbell or mobile phone footage gets in touch with us.”
Police have asked anyone with helpful information to call 101, quoting incident number 668 of November 24. Witnesses can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Claire McGonigle, Framework's Deputy Chief Executive, said: "No resident at Framework was involved in the attack - either as perpetrator or victim. The person who arrived at Mechanics House had already been injured.
"The person involved is not a resident and is not known to Framework staff. Staff acted quickly and professionally to get the victim medical support as soon as he appeared in reception.
"As this is an active police investigation we will let the police release any relevant details and we are helping them with their enquiries as much as we can."
