Man taken to hospital after fight breaks out near Lime Street Station

A man was taken to hospital after a fight broke out near Lime Street Station. Police were called to Bolton Street, near Lime Street Station, at 5.38am on Saturday, August 21.

It followed a report a man had been involved in an argument with three men and was assaulted. The victim in his 40s suffered an injury to his jaw and was taken to hospital to be treated.

When the ECHO arrived at the scene on Saturday at around 10.30am, a cordon remained in place at the junction of Bolton Street and Copperas Hill, near the Adelphi Hotel. A police officer could also be seen standing outside Rileys Sports Bar.

Cars travelling down Bolton Street, which is a one-way road, had to turn around back onto Skelhorne Street due to it being cordoned off. Police said an investigation is underway including witness and CCTV enquiries.
