Man taken to hospital after vehicle crashes into pub

A man was taken to hospital after a vehicle crashed into the front of a pub this morning (Monday). Police are investigating the crash on the A37 Yeovil Road in Melbury Osmond, Dorset.

Dorset Police say a vehicle collided with the porch of a pub on the road at around 6am today (November 25). The driver of a blue Peugeot 207, a man in his 40s from Yeovil, went to hospital with minor injuries for treatment.

Dorset Police are now appealing for information from anyone who witnessed the collision. Officers are especially keen to hear from a motorist who was in the area at the time.

Police Constable James Janssen, of Dorset Police, said: “We are investigating this collision and I am keen to hear from any witnesses who have not already spoken to police. I would also urge anyone with a dashcam who was driving in the vicinity during the morning of Monday 25 November 2024, to please check any footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.

“Finally, I would like to appeal directly to the motorist of a vehicle that was driving nearby at the time of this collision to do the right thing and come forward so we can take your account of what happened.”
