Man threatened disabled woman at Beeston town centre cash point
A man has been jailed after threatening a disabled woman at a cash point in a Nottinghamshire town. Anton Peck repeatedly demanded money from the victim who was using a machine in Beeston town centre.
As the woman, aged in her 40s, left, Peck followed her and tried to grab her phone when she continued to refuse. After a struggle Peck, 42, ran off but was chased and detained by a passing member of the public.
Police arrived and arrested Peck, of Mansfield Road, Woodthorpe. He was charged with attempted robbery in relation to the incident, which happened on the night of May 1, 2022.

More than two-and-a-half years after the offence, Peck was jailed for a total of three years when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on Wednesday, January 29. Peck also pleaded guilty to stalking after bombarding a woman with unwanted messages, as well as to charges of a string of shop thefts and assaulted two police officers and an emergency worker.
Detective Inspector James Oakton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Peck’s aggressive and intimidating behaviour was understandably incredibly scary and traumatic for the vulnerable victim of this attempted robbery. I hope she can feel reassured now that Peck has been put behind bars for the frightening ordeal he put her through."
