Man threatened to ram ex's house with her own car then stole it along with £500 of jewellery
A man took his former partner's car and stole jewellery from her home while she was staying at a girlfriend's house.
Sean Munson had threatened to destroy her home with the car by ramming it into her house in Willingham Street, Grimsby. At Grimsby Crown Court, Munson, 33, of Curzon Avenue, Cleethorpes admitted burglary and taking the Nissan car without consent.
He also admitted threatening to destroy her home and a further offence of driving not in accordance with his licence and without insurance on February 19, this year. Prosecuting, Ben Hammersley told how the couple had returned to Grimsby from an overnight stay at a Lincoln hotel.

She went to stay with a friend in Neville Street, while Munson used his key to enter her home and take car keys and £500-worth of jewellery. Both were later recovered by police.
Mr Hammersley said Munson had sent a string of messages to his former partner, which were abusive in nature. In a call he threatened to "run the car through her front window."
The prosecutor read the victim impact statement in which the partner said she had had to move out of her home because of what her former partner had done. "It has made me terrified in my own home," she said.
For Munson, Chloe Pinches said her client had already spent five and a half months in custody on remand. She said he hoped to get back to work, having formerly worked as a forklift driver in a cold store.
Munson addressed the judge and said he hoped to work on an oil refinery. He added his time in custody awaiting sentence had given him time to reflect and move on from the relationship.
Sentencing him, Judge Mark Bury said: "At 33 years, you have a bad record. You need to have a word with yourself. Since your remand you have been positive in your reflection. You have a job, a home to come out to and the support of your mother and sisters. These are well known to be protective factors which will help. You are not getting any younger.
At 33, it is time you turned your life around. The future is in your hands. Keep out of trouble and it will be the end of your criminal career. It is up to you."
He jailed Munson for a total of 12 months. Having served nearly six months on remand, he expected him to be released within a few days. He imposed a Restraining Order not to contact his former partner. The judge imposed six penalty points on his licence for the driving offences.
