Man threatens Morrison's staff before stealing every packet of cigarettes

A man threatened Morrison's Daily staff before stealing all the cigarettes from the shop. Police were called to the store on Liverpool Road in Widnes following the robbery at around 7.35am on Wednesday, February 5.

It followed a report a man pulled up outside the shop in a white transit van and entered the store. He threatened the staff and then took all the cigarette packets which he loaded into a yellow bag.

The suspect then made off from the scene toward Hough Green train station. Cheshire Police said the man is described as white, around 5ft 11in to 6ft, of thin build and approximately in his 30s.

He had a local accent and was dressed in black with his face covered. Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 or via the website quoting IML 2020788. Alternatively, information can be given anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
