Man United interview, 'last year' claim - Every Mohamed Salah Liverpool contract hint yet
Liverpool fans were still celebrating the 3-0 win over Manchester United when Mohamed Salah uttered the words no one wanted to hear. "It's my last year at the club," Salah said during a pitchside post-match interview.
It is the biggest hint yet that the 32-year-old has shared about his future, despite later changing "it is" to "it could" when talking about whether it would be his last game at Old Trafford. Within the same breath, Salah stated: "The club have not talked to me yet."
The ECHO has spoken to numerous sources and it is understood Salah is desperate to extend his stay at Liverpool beyond this summer. While Salah is yet to say this publicly, there have been clues about his future, as you can find compiled below...

That Old Trafford interview
"Honestly," Salah prefaced before replying to a question on Sky Sports from his former Liverpool teammate Daniel Sturridge, "I had a good summer; I had a long time to stay with myself and try to think positively, because, as you know, it's my last year in the club. I just want to enjoy it; I don't want to think about it. But I feel I'm free to play football, and we'll see what's gonna happen next year."
Asked by Super Sunday host Dave Jones about him playing at Old Trafford for potentially the final time, Salah said: "To be fair, I was coming to the game, I said, 'look, it could be last time,' nobody in the club talked to me yet about contracts, so I'm just like 'OK, I will play my last season and see at the end of the season."
"I don't know with which club (I could return to Old Trafford), but, so far, yeah, my last game with Liverpool. It's not up to me, but nobody talked to me about it from the club, but we will see."
The pre-United sit-down
Salah also had a sit-down interview with Sky Sports previewing the weekend, during which he spoke about dealing with his contract situation as a player. "I don't think much, to be fair," Salah said.
"I think, with time, you get more wisdom, I would say. I came before the season, and I was like, 'OK, I have one year left, so let's just enjoy it, don't think about the contract now, don't think about anything.'
"And I really just enjoy, I don't want to think about next year, I don't want to think about the future, I just 'OK, let's enjoy the last year and we'll see. Just take one day at a time and just be grateful to be here, and that is it."
Salah's end-of-season social media post
At the end of last season, Salah addressed the absence of any trophies won by the Reds during that campaign in a post shared across social media the day after that emotional afternoon at Anfield for the final home game with Jurgen Klopp as Liverpool manager against Wolverhampton Wanderers. "We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season," Salah posted.
"Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell. The accompanying photo also showed the player with his head down while walking alone on the pitch before the match.
