Man Utd sign Noam Emeran: French wonderkid rejects Barcelona and PSG in favour of Old Trafford

Manchester United have beaten Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain to the signature of French wonderkid Noam Emeran.

Emeran, 16, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford after catching the eye of United scouts while representing Ligue 1 side Aimens at youth level.

“An attacking player with a good left foot,” according to Aimens Under-19 head coach Antoine Buron, Emeran will now join the United academy headed by Nicky Butt, having turned down offers from elsewhere in Europe.

“Manchester has been more convincing than PSG and Barcelona,” Emeran was quoted as saying by Le Parisien.

The teenager also revealed some words of advice from United’s all-time top scorer Wayne Rooney that have stuck with the youngster.

“He [Rooney] told me: A players good or bad choices in his career based on his determination. I realised that I had to be demanding of myself.”

Emeran follows in the footsteps of another French starlet to make the move to Manchester in recent times in Aliou Traore.

The former Paris Saint-Germain starlet signed a professional deal with the club last January and has featured for the Under-18s this season.
