The Man Utd stars who must shape up: Gary Neville names and shames

Gary Neville has called on Manchester United's star-studded attack to start delivering on the pitch following a miserable run of form, while also claiming that David De Gea has been "distracted" by contract talks.

United's shock 4-0 Premier League defeat at Everton on Sunday marked a run of six defeats in eight games in all competitions, with the Red Devils' results nosediving since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was confirmed as the club's permanent manager.

Solskjaer's side have exited the Champions League and FA Cup in recent weeks, and their hopes of a top-four finish were hit by the humiliating loss at Goodison Park.

Despite that setback, Tottenham and Arsenal also lost this weekend to ensure United are still firmly in the race for Champions League qualification.

While Solskjaer has promised an aggressive recruitment drive this summer - with England's rising stars Jadon Sancho, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Declan Rice on the wishlist - former United captain Neville has called on the squad's current big names to rediscover their form for the run-in.

Speaking about United's troubles on his Sky Sports podcast, Neville said: "Alexis Sanchez: I don’t know what’s happened to him.

"Marcus Rashford. I went to both Barcelona games. Marcus looks off it at the moment.

"Whether he’s carrying an injury. something’s not right, or the season has caught up with him.

"Romelu Lukaku. He doesn’t turn up in the big games. That’s been levelled at him for a number of years now.

"Paul Pogba looks like he’s back to the Paul Pogba that was playing under Jose Mourinho, even though he’s been outstanding for the past three months.

"Anthony Martial, he’s just come back from injury, but he looks like he’s back in that ambling mood once again.

"De Gea looks nothing like, he looks distracted."
