Man Utd have been told the price they will have to pay to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in the summer, according to reports.

The Denmark international has been in brilliant form since leaving Sturm Graz for Serie A side Atalanta in a €17m transfer during the summer window.

Hojlund has made 23 Serie A appearances this season, 14 of which were in the starting XI, with the 20-year-old contributing seven goals and one assist.

He drew even more attention to himself over the past week with five goals in two matches for Denmark as they beat Finland 3-1 and lost 3-2 to Kazakhstan.

The Atalanta striker has a growing band of suitors with a number of clubs already linked with a summer transfer move for the former Copenhagen youth prospect.

His main three admirers seem to be Real Madrid, Man Utd and Arsenal at the moment with rumours the Gunners will make an ‘offer over €50m’ for Hojlund in the coming months.

And now Italian website Calciomercato (via Sport Witness) claim that Man Utd are interested in the striker who is ‘bewitching’ defences in Italy.

Atalanta have told interested parties that a bid of ‘€50-60m immediately’ will be enough to buy the Dane in the summer, which sounds like they want it all up front.

Sport Witness also relay another report, this time from Spain, with Athletic Bilbao looking to land Man Utd youngster Victor Musa in a ‘shock move’.

Radio Marca journalist Luis Calabor Nunez insists Musa is in ‘Athletic’s sights for the future’ while Spanish website Bilbaohiria also talk about interest from the La Liga side in the youngster.

The 16-year-old has scored six goals in United’s last seven Premier League under-18 matches with Musa already a England under-19 international.

Musa was born in the Basque region of Spain and therefore meets one of their ‘fundamental requirements’ as they look to add to their squad.

With a limited pool of players to choose from, the report adds that Bilbao ‘cannot miss this opportunity’ to sign Musa as they describe 2024 as the ‘perfect time’ to sign him.

Erik ten Hag has already made waves at Old Trafford, winning a League Cup and guiding the Red Devils to third place in the Premier League, while they could end up with two more trophies this season if they win the FA Cup and Europa League.

And former Man Utd midfielder Nicky Butt has hailed the job the Dutchman has done this season at Old Trafford.

Butt told the Press Association: “I think he’s done a great job, no matter what happens. Regardless of the trophies, if he stays in the top four he’s been very successful.

“He’s come into a football club that was really struggling and probably in its worst state, in terms of football, for about 20 years.

“Turning over coaches all the time isn’t the answer – that’s been proven at other clubs and proven at our club over the last 10 years.

“You have to have continuity and you have to go through ups and downs as a manager. There’ll be another sticky spell, you can guarantee that, but he is a top coach and he looks like he is born for Old Trafford.”
