Man from Wales convicted of terrorism offence
A man from Wales has been found guilty of an offence under the Terrorism Act 2000. Daniel Niinmae was convicted of possessing a document containing information of a kind likely to be of use to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism.
Niinmae, from Risca near Newport, was convicted following a two-week trial at Winchester Crown Court. The defendant was acquitted of two offences of dissemination of a terrorist publication. The conviction follows a detailed investigation led by Counter-Terrorism Policing Wales, a unit which brings together the four Welsh territorial forces.
