Man Walks Into Apple Store Dressed As Employee - Walks Out With 19 iPhones

A man walked into an Apple Store dressed in a blue shirt very similar to those used by Apple employees - and made off with 19 iPhones.

The suspect in the company’s New York City store walked into the repair room, and removed phones from a drawer.

He is then believed to have passed the phones to an accomplice, who walked out of the shop with them.

It’s the second New York robbery using the same method, The Next Web reports.

Phones in the repair room in Apple Stores are not tagged with security tags, so can be removed from the store without alerting security, unlike display models.

The company recently changed the dress code in its stores - with retail chief Angela Ahrendts introducing a standard bllue employee T-shirt with small Apple logo.

Some have suggested that the switch to a year-round, standard design has made it easier for criminals to target the stores.
