Manchester attack: 'Amazing' teenage girl Courtney Boyle and mother's partner Philip Tron named as final victims of blast

An “amazing, beautiful” 19-year-old girl and her mother’s “gorgeous” partner are the last two people to have been confirmed dead in the Manchester arena bombing.

Courtney Boyle and Philip Tron, 32, both from Gateshead, Newcastle, have been missing since suicide bomber Salman Abedi blew himself up as crowds left an Ariana Grande concert on Monday.

Devastated family and friends confirmed the pair were the last of 22 victims to be identified following the atrocity.

Courtney, who studied as Leeds Beckett University, was described by her mother Deborah Hutchinson as “stunning” and “amazing”.

She added that Mr Tron “made her world a happy place”.

Ms Hutchinson said in a statement: “My stunning amazing beautiful daughter. You were my rock, you made me so proud with all you had achieved and my gorgeous crazy Philip, you made my world a happy place and now you are both my angels flying high in the sky.”

Courtney’s dad told the Newcastle Chronicle: “I am going to miss my baby girl Courtney Boyle for the rest of my life.

“I will never forget you and I will love you forever. Grandad Bob misses you loads also.”

A statement from Mr Tron’s family read: “Firstly, we would like to thank the emergency services, police, nurses, support staff, family and friends and the people of Manchester for their continued help and support which they have given us throughout this harrowing time.

“Our most amazing son, partner, brother, father, uncle, nephew and cousin, Philip Tron, sadly passed away on the 22nd May 2017.

“Philip was such a fun loving, energetic soul, he would light up the darkest room and lift your spirits with his infectious laugh, witty sense of humour and his beautiful smile.”

Eilidh MacLeod

“Vivacious” 14-year-old Eilidh MacLeod was also killed in the blast after enjoying the concert with friend Laura Macintyre, 15, as part of a birthday treat.

The pair had travelled from the Outer Hebrides to see the US superstar perform.

Her distraught parents said in the statement: “Our family is devastated and words cannot express how we feel at losing our darling Eilidh.

“Eilidh was vivacious and full of fun. She loved all music whether it was listening to Ariana or playing the bagpipes with her pipe band.

“As a family we would like to express our thanks and gratitude for the support and kind messages we have received at this difficult time.”

The teenager’s father rushed from the island of Barra to Manchester to join his wife in a desperate hunt for the girls.

Laura was found in hospital almost 20 hours later with severe injuries.

Elaine McIver

Off-duty police officer Elaine McIver was another of Abedi’s victims.

The 43-year-old, believed to have served with Cheshire police, would not people to be “frightened by fear tactics”, her family said on Thursday.

A statement read: “Elaine was a much-loved daughter, sister, auntie, friend and colleague, the best we could ever have wished for.

“She was everyone's friend, thoughtful beyond belief, with an effervescent and outgoing personality.

"Elaine just loved life, and had a major love of music. Despite what has happened to her, she would want us all to carry on regardless and not be frightened by fear tactics; instead she regularly urged us all to rise up against it.

"Although we will all miss her beyond belief, we absolutely know she will live in our hearts forever."

Chloe Rutherford and Liam Curry

An “inseparable” teen couple who “wanted to be together forever” were also today named as confirmed victims of the terror attack.

Chloe Rutherford, 17, and Liam Curry, 19, from South Shields, were “beautiful inside and out”, their families said.

In a statement they said: “They lived to go to new places together and explore different cities. They were perfect in every way for each other and were meant to be.

“Chloe always described herself as ditzy who Liam adored and would do anything for, including dealing with Chloe’s demands for chocolate.

“They wanted to be together forever and now they are.”

Olivia Campbell

Aspiring singer Olivia Campbell, 15, from Bury, was confirmed dead after her mother Charlotte made an emotional appeal through the world’s media to find her daughter.

The young musician, who had appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, was described as “funny and beautiful” by her mum.

She wrote on Facebook: “RIP my darling precious gorgeous girl Olivia Campbell taken far far to soon go sing with the angels and keep smiling mummy loves you so much.”

Olivia’s best friend Adam Lawler, 15, suffered life-changing injuries in the blast.

Saffie-Rose Roussos

Eight-year-old Saffie-Rose Roussos was the youngest person killed in the attack.

On Thursday, forklift truck driver Paul Reid told the Sun how he cradled the injured youngster in his arms as she cried for her mum.

He said: “She was a dying little girl and she just wanted her mum. It was devastating.”

Saffie had attended the concert with her mother Lisa and sister Ashlee.

Family friend Salman Patel said Lisa is currently in a coma in hospital and has no idea her daughter is dead.

He told reporters: “Saffie’s sadly passed away and her mother, we understand, isn’t aware. I am praying for the family, it is totally heartbreaking.”

Sorell Leczkowski

Sorrell Leczkowski, 14, from Leeds, died after attending the gig with her mother Samantha and grandmother.

Devastated friends and family took to social media to pay tribute to the Sorrell, who was described as a "delightful member of the school community" by her headteacher.

Elaine Silson, the head of Allerton High School said: "Sorrell was a delightful member of the school community. She enjoyed her studies, had a lovely group of friends and was a real asset to Allerton High School.”

Nell Jones

Fourteen-year-old Nell Jones,from Cheshire, was also killed in the attack.

The teenager was described as “bright and popular” by staff at Holmes Chapel Comprehensive and Sixth Form.

Headteacher Denis Oliver said: "We are all devastated by the loss and as a school community we must now come to terms with what has happened.

"Nell was a very bright and popular student."

Georgina Callander

Ariana Grande superfan Georgina Callander, 18, was the first victim of the attack to be named.

The “kind and loving” teenager, from Lancashire, was pictured in 2015 with her idol and tweeted Grande the day before her death to say “SO EXCITED TO SEE YOU TOMORROW.”

Michelle Kiss

The mother of a schoolgirl photographed being comforted by a police officer outside the arena in one of the defining images of the atrocity.

Desperate friends and family had appealed to find Michelle Kiss, 45, from Lancashire in the days following the blast.

Her young daughter, who was pictured being swaddled in a coat by a first responders in the aftermath of the blast, was said to be recovering at home.

Wendy Fawell

A Leeds mum who went to Manchester Arena with her daughter and friends was confirmed late on Wednesday night to have been killed.

Wendy Fawell, 50, is thought to have been near the venue's exit when the bomb exploded. She had watched Ariana Grande with her daughter Charlotte.

Her close friend Debbie McDowell wrote on Facebook: "I am heartbroken beyond belief. I have lost my best friend and confident.

“A beautiful, lady who I will have treasured memories of. Nite god bless sweetheart. Love you to the moon and back."

Jane Tweddle-Taylor

Mother-of-three Jane Tweddle-Taylor was killed as she waited to pick up a friend’s daughter from the venue.

The 51-year-old school receptionist, from Blackpool, was due to jet off on holiday with daughters Harriet, 24, Lily, 22, and Isabelle, 20, next week.

Megan Hurley

Schoolgirl Megan Hurley, 15, from Liverpool was killed in the blast just a week before her 16th birthday.

Megan’s brother Brad,20 , was seriously injured in the attack, the pairs family said.

In a post on Facebook, Megan's aunt Maxine Benson, 53, said: 'My poor sister and Mike are destroyed beyond words... it doesn't seem fair for two kids to go to a concert and only one returns how in God's name could this happen to such a lovely family... heartbroken xx.'

Martyn Hett

Coronation Street superfan Martyn Hett, 29, “just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time” his family said as they confirmed his death.

The 29-year-old PR manager from Stockport was days away from setting off on a trip to the US when he was killed.

A family statement, issued by Greater Manchester Police, read: “"Martyn was the icon of all our lives. His infectious laugh and his niche sense of humour will stay with us forever.

"He lived for every moment of every day and fitted an entire lifetime of memories into his 29 years.”

Angelika and Marcin Klis

Polish nationals Angelika and Marcin Klis, were confirmed among the dead.

The pair were waiting to collect their daughters from the gig when Abedi struck.

Daughter Alex Klis, a student at York University, posted a heartbreaking image on Facebook in a bid to trace them before news of their deaths emerged.

She wrote: "Anyone who is in any safe place or hospital in Manchester, if anyone comes across my parents please please let me know as they've been missing ever since the attack, this is a picture taken tonight so this is exactly what they were wearing."

Lisa Lees and Alison Howe

Friends Lisa Lees, 43, and Alison Howe, 45, both from Royton in Oldham, in were killed while waiting to collect their 15-year-old daughters Darcie Howe and India Lees from the foyer of 21,000 capacity venue.

Jordan Howe wrote on Facebook: “They took a caring beautiful mum and step mother away from us all. Love you loads.”

While Ms Lees brother Lee Hunter said: “For those who don’t know Lisa is gone but never ever forgotten I love you Lisa I’ll miss you so much.”

Kelly Brewster

Office worker Kelly Brewster died shielding her niece Holly Booth from the blast.

The family of the 36-year-old, from Sheffield, saved the life of the youngster who suffered two broken legs, her family said.

John Atkinson

Tributes have also been paid to 26-year-old John Atkinson from Bury, whose death was announced by friends on Facebook.

An online fundraising page, set up to gather donations for Mr Atkinson’s family, received more than £1,000 in less than an hour after being established.

Police confirmed Abedi, 22, was behind the attack on Tuesday.

Eight people have been arrested over the blast in the UK while the bomber’s father Ramadan Abedi and brother Hashem Abedi have been detained by anti-terror forces in Libya.
