Manchester United and Ajax observed a minute's silence ahead of kick-off in the Europa League Final as fans inside the ground applauded in tribute to Monday evening's bombing attack.

An explosive device detonated at Manchester Arena following an Ariana Grande concert killed 22 and over 100 injured, and both teams have paid their respective with the traditional tribute at the Friends' Arena in Stockholm.

United players are wearing black armbands for the showpiece event.

Jose Mourinho issued a statement on Tuesday, as the playing and backroom staff left for the final.

He said "the people of Manchester will pull together as one" after the pre-match press conference was cancelled.

The squad also held a minute's silence, along with Premier League champions Chelsea, when training at their Greater Manchester base hours after the tragedy.

United and City both flew club flags at half mast following the incident, with City's Etihad Stadium used as a meeting point for those in need in the immediate aftermath.
