Manchester City reached their first ever Champions League Final after beating Paris-Saint Germain 2-0 on Wednesday.
Riyad Mahrez scored both goals as Pep Guardiola’s side went through 4-1 on aggregate.
James Robson was at the Etihad and here is how he rated the City players…
Brilliant ball set up City’s opener, but so nearly caught out with a loose throw shortly after and was errant with another clearance later.
Kyle Walker 8
Embraced the challenge of keeping Neymar quiet. Did not happen all the time – but when it was down to a race, there was no contest.
An absolute rock at the back. The difference between a team that reaches the Champions League final and one that crumbles.
John Stones 8
Wonderful season for the England man. Faced up to PSG’s threat and generally managed to get something in the way.
Oleks Zinchenko 7
Thought he had conceded a penalty – then breaks away to set up City’s opener. Defended diligently and his bursts forward scared PSG.
Vintage from the Brazilian. Snuffed out so many dangerous moments against a PSG that enjoyed plenty of possession.
Ilkay Gundogan 7
Snapped into tackles to relieve the pressure – particularly in the first half. Less of an attacking threat than normal.
Bernardo Silva 7
More of a defensive remit for him than usual with some important interceptions.
The hero from the first leg came up with a crucial strike to settle early City nerves and then the goal to seal it.
Phil Foden 8
His slaloms in midfield eased pressure and put PSG on the back foot. One of the players the French feared most and came up with a wonderful run and cross to set up Mahrez’ second.
Kevin de Bruyne 8
Full of menace whenever he picked the ball up, attracting PSG defenders wherever he went, creating space for others.
