Manchester City vs Huddersfield
Premier League 2018/19
Etihad Stadium
Kick-off: 1.30pm BST

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City will play their first Premier League home game as champions today as they host Huddersfield Town.

Guardiola's men cantered to the title in a record-breaking 2017-18 season, and the pressure is now on to do even better - particularly in the Champions League.

City beat Arsenal 2-0 in north London last weekend with a minimum of fuss, and Huddersfield - who lost 3-0 at home to Chelsea - will have to be on top form with Guardiola likely to welcome back the likes of Kevin De Bruyne to his starting line-up.

Head to head

Man City have beaten Huddersfield 26 times and lost 22 matches, with the majority of their games - 30 - ending in draws.

City beat Huddersfield 2-1 in November last year, but the Terriers held the champions to a goalless draw in May.

Team news

Guardiola's side were able to beat Arsenal easily with players like De Bruyne, Leroy Sane and Gabriel Jesus all coming off the bench, but the Belgian midfielder has been ruled out for three months after suffering a knee injury in training.

Jesus is pushing for a start after Sergio Aguero's wasteful display in London, though Bernardo Silva and Benjamin Mendy are set to keep their starting roles after making an impact against the Gunners.

David Wagner's Terriers are without Erik Durm and Danny Williams, but Isaac Mbenza could feature.
