Tottenham travel to Manchester City on Saturday aiming to secure a seventh consecutive Premier League victory.

Mauricio Pochettino's side have found their stride in recent weeks and appear to be primed to fight for the title during the second half of the season.

Pep Guardiola's men, meanwhile, are struggling to live up to their hype. City spent big in the summer but are in danger of slipping out of the top four after losing 4-0 at Everton last weekend.

Spurs will be keen to lay down a marker against another direct rival and, having beaten City at home earlier in the season, will be brimming with confidence following the release of plans of their new stadium.

TEAM NEWS

Erik Lamela is ruled out as the Argentine winger still struggling to shake off a hip problem, with Pochettino "worried and concerned" at the lack of progress.

Jan Vertonghen is also out after damaging his ankle in the victory over West Brom, but Pochettino has offered a "very positive" assessment as the problem looks set to keep the defender out for six weeks - less than Spurs initially feared.

Ben Davies and Kevin Wimmer are vying for an opportunity to replace Vertonghen in a 3-4-2-1 formation.

Pochettino is unlikely to make significant changes given how well his side have played in recent weeks.

The same cannot be said for Guardiola, whose title aspirations are hanging in the balance.

Sergio Aguero will lead the line but defence is City's main problem. Both Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones need to improve if they are to stop Harry Kane.

New City signing Gabriel Jesus says he is not scared of a potential debut against Spurs after being cleared to play for Guardiola's side.

POSSIBLE STARTING LINE-UPS

Manchester City XI: Bravo; Sagna, Otamendi, Stones, Clichy; Toure, Zabaleta; Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne; Aguero.

Tottenham XI: Lloris; Dier, Alderweireld, Davies; Walker, Wanyama, Dembele, Rose; Eriksen, Alli; Kane.
