A multi-millionaire Premier League footballer has been ordered to pay his children’s nanny £3,600 in unpaid wages after she took the star to an employment tribunal.

Riyad Mahrez, a Manchester City winger who reportedly earns £200,000 a week allegedly paid Catalina Miraflores £12-an-hour to look after his two young daughters, but she left the role in November after being left thousands of pounds out of pocket.

According to The Sun, Ms Miraflores moved from London to Manchester to live in the footballer’s city centre apartment when he signed for the Premier League champions for £60 million.

There, she said: “It was no longer an 8am until 6pm role,” and “I was at their beck and call 24 hours a day.”

Judge John Sherratt ruled in Ms Miraflores’ favour and ordered Mahrez to pay expenses and damages.

Judge Sherratt said the footballer, who also plays for the Algerian national team, and his partner should have paid their nanny £3,612.

The couple should also have covered expenses incurred by Ms Miraflores and were ordered to pay £150 in damages.

Ms Miraflores, 52, told The Sun: "I worked really, really hard for that money. But he had not paid me. I didn't know what to do.

"There was never any problem with my work. I worked all of those hours and should be paid."

Mr Sherratt said in a written judgment: "The respondents have made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant's wages and are ordered to pay the claimant the net sum of £3,612.

"The respondents, in breach of contract, have failed to pay certain expenses to the claimant and are ordered to pay damages to the claimant in the sum of £150.00."

Mahrez has until July 3 to comply with the order.
