Manchester double murder inquiry after two people killed at 5am
A murder investigation has been launched after two people were killed in an inner-city area of Manchester.
Police are currently at the scene on Great Southern Street in the Moss Side area of the city. One man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
There are reports that the victims had been stabbed. Emergency services were called to the scene at about 5am today.

Two people were treated at the scene as paramedics responded to the incident, but sadly both were pronounced dead.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police wrote on Facebook: "There is an emergency services presence on Great Southern Street in Moss Side whilst officers respond to an incident. Police have attended and despite the best efforts of emergency services, two people were treated at the scene and have sadly been pronounced dead.
"We have arrested one man on suspicion of murder. Please avoid the area as there is a large emergency service presence while we establish the full circumstances of the incident this morning."
Several officers are guarding each end of the cordon and one is standing at the entrance to an Islamic centre, reports MEN.
