Jose Mourinho has conceded that the Premier League title race over as Manchester City beat his Manchester United side at Old Trafford to go 11 points clear at the top.

David Silva took advantage hesitance in the United defence at a corner to open the scoring before Marcus Rashford pounced on errors from Nicolas Otamendi and Fabian Delph to equalise.

Otamendi made amends after the break, making it a hat-trick of mistaken-ridden goals, to capitalise on Romelu Lukaku's dreadful clearance at a free-kick for the winner in a likely season-defining Manchester derby.

When asked by BBC Sport if the title race is over, Mourinho replied: "Probably, yes.

"Manchester City are a very good team and they are protected by the luck, and the gods of football are behind them."

Mourinho was insistent after the game that United should have been awarded a penalty after Ander Herrera went down under pressure from Eliaquim Mangala.

He told reporters: "I think they are a very good team, they are lucky, they have decisions in their favour.

"I'm pretty sure everyone is going to fight for points and try and reduce the distance, but the advantage is a very good one."
