Manchester United 'considering' another Bayern Munich transfer as Liverpool battle emerges
Manchester United are being linked with two new defenders, according to the latest transfer rumour mill.
United had a busy summer transfer window with five new signings in total. Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte were all signed by the Reds to strengthen Erik ten Hag's squad.
With the exception of Yoro, who is currently sidelined through injury, all of United's summer signings have earned regular minutes in the early weeks of the season. The next test for Ten Hag's side will be on Wednesday night when United face FC Twente in their opening fixture of the Europa League.

MEN Sport takes a look at some of the latest United transfer news and rumours that have circulated over the last 24 hours. United are being linked with a move for Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies.
According to Give Me Sport, the Reds are 'considering' a move for the left-back, who looks increasingly likely to be available on a free transfer at the end of the season when his contract expires. The report states that Real Madrid remains Davies' most likely destination if he were to leave Bayern at the end of the campaign.
However, United are still in the race for the left-back's signature, having beaten the La Liga giants in the battle to sign Leny Yoro during the summer transfer window. Left-back is reportedly the area of the squad that United are looking to strengthen in January or next summer. Bournemouth star Milos Kerkez has been mentioned in the report as a potential target for United.
Elsewhere, United are reportedly interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen defender Jeremie Frimpong. According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are also in the running to sign the Netherlands international, but United will compete with their Merseyside rivals for his signature.
It has been reported that United are 'expected' to be in the race to sign Frimpong next summer. This is despite the Reds already signing a right-back with Noussair Mazraoui arriving from Bayern Munich.
