Manchester United's home shirt for the 2018-19 season appears to have been leaked online ahead of its official launch.

The new design is inspired by the 'railway men who formed the club' with United's traditional red colour complemented by a black trim.

The iconic Adidas stripes will also be black while the designers have ditched the club's customary white shorts to complete the red-to-black fade look which runs from the top of the shirt to the bottom of the shorts.

A clip promoting the strip shows Juan Mata donning the new look in the Old Trafford dressing room with several references to the club's early years as Newton Heath LYR Football Club in the 1880s.

The apparent leak is consistent with a teaser image shared by Alexis Sanchez in April which shows the new socks with the same gradient design.

The new shirt will be worn for the first time in Thursday's pre-season tour opener against Club America in Phoenix, Arizona.
