Manchester United line up against Chelsea: Predicted starting XI for Stamford Bridge clash

Jose Mourinho is expected to make three changes as he plots a vital Manchester United win at former club Chelsea on Saturday.

A come-from-behind victory at lowly Newcastle United meant United did not enter the international break winless in three, but they remain seven points off the Blues after just eight games.

Reports emerged ahead of the visit of Newcastle that Mourinho would be sacked no matter the result - a claim strongly refuted by the club. A win at his former stomping ground would do wonders for the mood around Old Trafford.

Antonio Valencia is expected to come in for Ashley Young, who played at right-back against Newcastle. Luke Shaw, fresh from signing a new five-year deal, will keep his place at left-back.

Victor Lindelof should come in at central defence in place of Eric Bailly, who was taken off after just 19 minutes when Newcastle 2-0 up. The Swede will partner Chris Smalling at the back.

Youngster Scott McTominay will come out as Maroune Fellaini comes into a midfield three including Nemanja Matic and Paul Pogba. The front three of Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford should remain unchanged.

Predicted starting line-up:

Manchester United XI (4-3-3): De Gea; Valencia, Smalling, Lindelof, Shaw; Fellaini, Matic, Pogba; Martial, Lukaku, Rashford
