Manchester United 'target' £16.8m star in January as Zlatan Ibrahimovic reunion emerges
It remains to be seen how busy Manchester United will be when the January transfer window rolls around.
United signed five players during the summer with Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Manuel Ugarte, Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt all moving to Old Trafford. Despite a busy window, the Reds were linked with the potential of even more signings throughout the summer.
Erik ten Hag's future as United manager remains uncertain heading into the international break. The Reds are not back in action until October 19 when they will host Brentford at Old Trafford in the Premier League.
MEN Sport takes a look at some of the latest United transfer rumours that have emerged over the last 24 hours.

United are continuing to be linked with a move for Palmeiras midfielder Richard Rios. Reports in the summer first claimed that the Reds could have an interest in signing the 24-year-old.
According to Caught Offside, Palmeiras may be prepared to allow Rios to leave the club in January and would be open to suitable offers. United are mentioned in the report as still retaining an interest in the midfielder, but will face competition from AC Milan, Everton, Wolves and Fulham.
It has been suggested that Palmeiras would be willing to accept an offer worth €20million (£16.8million) for Rios when the transfer window opens in January. Whether United will submit a bid, though, remains to be seen given the investment of more than £50million, including add-ons, to sign Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.
Elsewhere, United defender Victor Lindelof is being linked with a move away from Old Trafford. Reports from Italy have claimed that AC Milan are interested in signing the Sweden international.
According to Milan Live, Milan are looking to sign Lindelof as a free agent when his contract expires at the end of the season. In December 2023, the centre-back put pen to paper on an extension that runs until the summer of 2025, and there is currently no sign of fresh terms being agreed.
The report claims that former United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who works as an operating partner at Milan, wants to reunite with his ex-Sweden and United teammate Lindelof at the San Siro next summer. Inter Milan have also been mentioned in the report as a potential destination for Lindelof.
