New Manchester United wonderkid signing shows true colours as perfect Paul Scholes example set
New Manchester United signing Sekou Kone chose to spend his Saturday afternoon at Old Trafford watching United Legends take on Celtic Legends. The special one-off charity encounter took place on the weekend of the September international break with a number of big names in action.
Lining up for United were the likes of Paul Scholes, Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick with the latter duo both now Championship managers at Plymouth Argyle and Middlesbrough, respectively. Rooney had put the Reds ahead with a stunning free-kick before Gary Hooper equalised.
Celtic ultimately won the game on penalties but the match was for a great cause and it certainly allowed United supporters, both in attendance and following along at home, to reminisce.

Alongside Rooney's wondergoal, Carrick and Scholes looked as though they had not lost a step with the duo both putting in strong midfield displays. For one specific person watching on, that was likely a sight to behold as he attempts to emulate their careers in Manchester.
In the summer transfer window, alongside the arrivals of Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte, the Reds welcomed 18-year-old defensive midfielder Kone from Malian club Guidars FC.
The teenager had alerted himself to a number of top European clubs with his displays at the under-17s World Cup last year, though it was United who acquired his services. Alongside signing Kone, United also poached another young talent with Chido Obi-Martin joining from Arsenal, pending Premier League approval.
It has since been revealed United will be carefully integrating the duo, though Kone has seemingly taken it upon himself to learn from the best. On Saturday afternoon, he posted an update to Instagram stories that shows him in the stands at Old Trafford watching United take on Celtic.
Kone helped Mali finish third in the under-17s World Cup last November with two assists to his name. There are understandably high hopes he can make it in the professional game having come through the JMG academy in, the same setup that developed Tottenham's Yves Bissouma.
