The Mandalorian star shares shock at character's return in s3

The Mandalorian's Katy O'Brian has shared her shock at being asked back for the third season of the Disney+ show.

O'Brian, who's recently appeared in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, will return as an unidentified Imperial Communications Officer in the new instalment.

At the end of season 2, her fate was seemingly sealed when Pedro Pascal's Din Djarin and his gang boarded baddie Moff Gideon's (Giancarlo Esposito) cruiser, getting rid of its personnel.

But not everything is as it seems in the Star Wars TV series, and it appears fans will get to know more of O'Brian's officer in the upcoming chapter.

"A complete surprise," the actress told Collider of her comeback. "The thing about The Mandalorian is you never know what's gonna happen."

She also revealed a behind-the-scenes detail about the show, explaining actors are asked to deliver lines in different tones and don't always know which one will end up in the final cut.

"They have you read lines several different ways," she added. "Like, 'Okay, so this one maybe you're a dog at heart.' [Laughs] 'This one maybe you're evil, maybe you're good.'

"So they just have you read it several ways and when you see the final product, you're like, 'Oh, okay. I guess that's my character now.'

"They're so secretive you never know what’s going on. Never. And I'm just very grateful that I'm always able and ready to take the call and they tend to be really flexible as well."
