The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal responds to Sarah Michelle Gellar's Buffy throwback

The Mandalorian's Pedro Pascal has responded to a throwback photo shared by Buffy The Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar.

Before slaying the infected as Joel in The Last of Us, Pascal cameoed in the hit vampire drama in 1999. He appears in the show's season four premiere as Eddie, a college student who befriends Buffy.

Gellar shared a photo from the episode to her Instagram page, cheekily captioning it "When #Mother met #Father."

Speaking during the season three premiere of his Disney+ series The Mandalorian in Los Angeles, Pascal said he was "thrilled" Gellar remembered him.

"What I just found out – that I am very excited about, and I can't wait to get my phone back so that I can look it up myself – is that Sarah Michelle Gellar remembers me," he told Access Hollywood.

"I want her to know that I remember every moment of shooting that episode, as brief as it was. She was such a kind scene partner, and we had the best time."

Gellar has since replied to Pascal's remarks on her Instagram story, writing: "As if I could ever forget you. I adore you."

Ahead of the latest episodes, Pascal teased a "shift in the power dynamic" in the season in a conversation with Digital Spy.

"I think that's a beautiful aspect [of season three] in terms of expanding the lore around Mandalore and including more characters and expanding on the coolness – because Mandalorians are so cool," he said.

"The Creed and the culture around it have so many interesting facets that are relatable to society for us, and to get more into the flesh of that, under the armour, is fascinating."

The Mandalorian season 3 is streaming now on Disney+, with new episodes on Wednesdays. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the entire Skywalker Saga are available on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K now, as well as on Disney+.
