Mandip Gill and Bobby Brazier star in first-look trailer for new UK drama

Paramount+ has unveiled the first trailer for upcoming UK drama Curfew.

The six-part series, which is set to premiere on the streaming service on October 10, features an all-star cast including Doctor Who's Mandip Gill, Strictly Come Dancing's Bobby Brazier, Gavin & Stacey's Larry Lamb and Stay Close's Sarah Parish.

Adapted from Jayne Cowie’s novel After Dark, Curfew takes place in an alternate reality where all men are bound to a strict a 7pm-7am curfew as part of 'The Women’s Safety Act', with their movements tracked by an ankle tag.

However, when a women is brutally murdered during curfew hours and her body left on the steps of the Women’s Safety Centre, veteran police officer Pamela Green (Parish) launches an investigation.

Although Pamela believes the killer is a man, her theory is rejected given the strict curfew system that was put in place over three years ago.

The official logline continues: "Determined to prove a man committed this murder, Pamela’s investigation threatens to bring The Women’s Safety Act crashing down… people in high places are determined to make the curfew a success and will do all it takes to prevent Pamela from discovering the truth."

Gill stars alongside Parish as Sarah, a tagging centre employee who is at the heart of the investigation, while Brazier plays a schoolboy named James, who is vocal in his opposition to the curfew.

Meanwhile, Lamb takes on the role of Rhys Holden, an American man who struggles to adapt to the UK's restrictions.

Other cast members include X Factor winner Alexandra Burke, EastEnders stars Anita Dobson and Lucy Benjamin, former Coronation Street star James Craven, and Imogen Sandhu, who recently made a guest appearance in Casualty.

They are joined by Adam Korson (This Is Us), Amy Louise Pemberton (Legends of Tomorrow), Tommy McDonnell, Selorm Adonu, and Raphael D'Alterio.

Curfew will premiere on Paramount+ on 10th October.
