Mandy Moore and husband Taylor Goldsmith become parents to baby boy

Mandy Moore has announced the arrival of her first child with Dawes frontman Taylor Goldsmith.

The This Is Us star and her husband welcomed a baby boy they have named August, or Gus for short.

Moore, 36, shared a picture of her new son on Instagram and wrote: "Gus is here. Our sweet boy, August Harrison Goldsmith.

"He was punctual and arrived right on his due date, much to the delight of his parents. We were prepared to fall in love in all sorts of brand new ways, but it goes beyond anything we could have ever imagined."

She also shared an image on her Instagram stories of her in bed eating a bowl of nourishing soup captioned: "Living that postpartum life."

The teen pop star turned actor began dating musician Goldsmith, 35, in 2015.

They became engaged in September 2017 and married in November 2018. Their wedding was held in the back garden of their Los Angeles home, with Moore wearing an unconventional pink dress.

The Tangled star was previously married to Whiskeytown frontman Ryan Adams from 2009 to 2016.

Moore stars with Milo Ventimiglia in NBC family drama This Is Us, which is currently airing its fifth series. She revealed she had filmed the most recent episode while 37.5 weeks pregnant.

She wrote to her co-stars that she had been "especially emotional about everything, so thanks for bearing with me".
