Man's body discovered in storm drain on Frodsham Marsh

Police have confirmed that a man has been found dead in a storm drain on Frodsham Marsh. A huge emergency services response was launched this morning following reports that a body had been spotted.

Cheshire Constabulary has now confirmed that a man was found dead in the water. Officers do not believe the death to be suspicious and the man's nest of kin has been informed.

In a statement, Cheshire Constabulary said: "At around 10.40am on Wednesday 20 November, police were called to reports that a body had been seen in a storm drain on the Marshes in Frodsham. Officers attended and a man was sadly found deceased in the water, his next of kin have been informed.

"Enquiries are currently ongoing into the circumstances surrounding his death, although it is is not believed to be suspicious. Anyone with any information is asked to contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting IML 1966776."
