Man's body found at Merseyside dam

Police cordoned off a Merseyside dam on Saturday morning after a body was found. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called at around 7.25am on Saturday, November 16, after a man's body was found at Sutton Mill Dam off Mill Brow in Sutton Leach, St Helens.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have contacted his next of kin. The death is currently being treated as unexplained but police don't believe there are any suspicious circumstances.
Police swarmed the are at the time, with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service also in attendance on Saturday morning. All entrances are believed to have been cordoned off at the time of the discovery, with the dam now reopen.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson told the ECHO: "We were contacted at 7.25am on Saturday 16 November following reports that the body of a man in his 20s had been found at Mill Brow in Sutton Leach. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
"The man’s next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and the matter will be referred to the coroner."
