Man's 'disgraceful' actions in corner shop lead to police CCTV appeal
A man threatened a shopkeeper at a corner shop and stole cash. At around 10.20pm on Thursday, November 14, an offender entered M P Food and Wine on Hartsbourne Avenue in Childwall and made demands for cash.
A knife was mentioned but not seen, but cash was stolen, police said. Detectives have issued CCTV images of man they would like to speak to following the incident. Detective Inspector Michael Fletcher described the incident as "disgraceful".
In a statement, he said: “This would have been a frightening experience for the shopkeeper and we are determined to find the person responsible and bring them before the courts. It is disgraceful to see a shopkeeper threatened when carrying out their business in our communities, and we will respond to all information provided and continue to work closely with businesses and partners to investigate such crimes.
