Back in the 90s and 00s, school dinners were a thing of beige beauty - from turkey dinosaurs to anything and everything served with chips.

What was never beige, mind you, were the puddings. Coconut and jam cake was a highlight, as was chocolate concrete (a nice way of saying burnt chocolate sponge) and pink custard.

So to all the dinner ladies of our childhoods, we thank you for making us the sweet-toothed adults we are today as we look back at these retro school dinners.
