Map shows when snow forecast for London as wetter weather returns
Snow is set to fall on London again as weather maps predict a covering over two days next week. WXCharts shows London and the surrounding counties are set to see up to 0.5cm of snow an hour over a 24 hour period.
The capital has seen a break from the recent cold snap this week with temperatures rising from above freezing at the start of the year that saw the first snowfall of 2025. The Met Office claimed that it has felt as low as -3C last week and despite the rise in temperatures UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) extended its amber weather warning until this morning (January 14).
Now, weather maps are showing snowfall from Friday, January 24 at 6pm through to Saturday, January 25 with it set to stop after midday. Moving through Saturday and into Sunday, January 26 expect light showers in the morning turning to heavier downpours in the afternoon.

Looking ahead, for the weather in a week or so, the Met Office said: "A dominant flow from the Atlantic looks likely through this period, resulting in an unsettled, milder and windier than average period. This is likely to result in areas of rain and periods of stronger winds affecting most if not all parts of the UK at times, though with the wettest and windiest weather probably occurring towards the north and west. However, the potential for brief colder spells with associated frost, ice and snow remains, following any deep lows crossing the region."
Temperatures are set to drop back down to freezing next week with it peaking at 5C on Wednesday, January 22 before the onset of snow on Friday and Saturday. Across the weekend it is set to remain around freezing until Sunday, January 26 when it will climb back up to 3C.
The return of snow comes after frosty weather saw ice freeze Trafalgar Square fountains and the London Fire Brigade issues a public warning after being called to a number of dogs getting trapped on frozen lakes. The spate of cold weather has sparked a number of cold weather payments which sees £50 paid out by the DWP to help people pay their heating bills.
