How to march with The Independent for a Final Say on Brexit

More than 850,000 of you have signed our petition calling on the government to give the people a Final Say on Brexit.

But I think we all know – just from speaking to our families and friends – that there are many more who share this point of view. If everyone who has already signed shared the petition with just one other person who wanted to sign, we’d be well over 1.7 million signatures in no time at all. We hope you will do just that.

In seven days, we will make our voices heard on the streets of London too. The Independent has teamed up with the People’s Vote campaign for the March for the Future, which will take place next Saturday, 20 October, in the heart of the UK’s capital.

We hope very much that you will join the protest, marching alongside the editor Christian Broughton and many members of our editorial team, as we tell the government what they need to hear.

The simple truth is that the Brexit negotiations continue to be mired in uncertainty and confusion. We know so much more about the likely consequences of EU withdrawal than we did at the time of the 2016 referendum. It is absolutely right that we, the people, not the politicians, should have the Final Say on whether to accept whatever deal (if any) the prime minister agrees with Brussels.

So, next Saturday, bring your placards (we will have a photographer looking for the very best) and assemble with us at midday outside the Grosvenor Park Hotel on the southbound carriageway of Park Lane, London.

See you there.
