Marco Silva has urged Watford captain Troy Deeney to keep his opinions to himself after questioning the fighting spirit of Arsenal.

Deeney came on against the Gunners last weekend to help inspire a 2-1 win for Watford in front of their fans before giving a brutal assessment of Arsenal when he said they lacked the "cojones" to beat Silva's side.

With Watford travelling to take on Chelsea on Saturday, Silva admits he spoke to Deeney and told him to focus his attentions solely on the Hornets and not the opposition.

"Troy Deeney knows my opinion on this," Silva said. "My opinion will stay between me and him.

"I spoke to him about everything. We will see in the next match and we will see what happens.

"About what was said, I spoke with him and it is finished. It is important for us and a club, for our players to speak about our work and what we do as a team.

"For my players we must look inside and not outside and respect ourselves, as well.

"That moment, Troy gave his opinion but it is finished now."
