Kate Winslet is speaking out about the possibility of Mare Of Easttown season 2.

The epic HBO drama came to an end in the US on Sunday (May 30) and on Sky Atlantic on Monday (May 31), finally revealing who really killed Erin McMenamin. But there's no doubt that fans still want more – and it sounds like there might be a possibility they can have it.

If Winslet gets her way, that is.

Speaking to TVLine, the Titanic actor seemed very much up for another round, admitting: "I would absolutely love to play Mare again. I miss her. I really do. It's the strangest thing. I feel like I'm in mourning."

The star went on to call playing main character Marianne "Mare" Sheehan "an absolutely wonderful role" and noted there was "something very addictive about Mare, because she's so outrageous and lovable and brilliant and real, you know? I loved playing her."

The thing is though, Mare of Easttown was originally set to be a miniseries, so it's not exactly set in stone that it will get a second season, despite being hugely popular with fans.

But that doesn't mean it's impossible. Big Little Lies was also set to be a one-off season, but got a second and potentially even a third.

As for what director and executive producer Craig Zobel had to say about more episodes, he admitted Mare "is an amazing character" he "would be excited to see" again. But he also poured a little cold water on fans wanting more, admitting, "I also like it as a miniseries."

Looks like we'll just have to wait and see on this one!
