Margot Robbie: 'Clothes are huge part of Barbie movie'
Margot Robbie has described clothes as a "huge part" of the Barbie movie.
In an interview for Vogue, the Australian actress expressed her excitement over her wardrobe for the new film, in which she portrays the titular doll-inspired character.
"The clothes are a huge part of this movie and a huge part of Barbie," she stated.
Margot also indicated that her version of Barbie won't only appear in a string of fabulous outfits, but will also take on different jobs.
"Everything in Barbie is super superficial but it's also incredibly profound at the same time," the 32-year-old continued. "She can put on a suit and she's a lawyer, she can put on a space helmet and she's an astronaut."
Elsewhere in the interview, the Babylon star also addressed the sexiness of the protagonist.
"She is sexualized. But she should never be sexy. People can project sex onto her. Yes, she can wear a short skirt, but because it's fun and pink. Not because she wanted you to see her butt," she added.
The star-studded Barbie cast also includes the likes of Ryan Gosling, Dua Lipa, Emma Mackey, and Nicola Coughlan, among others.
Directed by Greta Gerwig, the feature is set to hit cinemas on 21 July.
