Mariah Carey criticised for over-Photoshopped naked pic

Mariah Carey's new photo shoot has drawn accusations of (gasp) excessive Photoshopping.

The picture in question comes from a new shoot with Paper magazine, which shows her topless with her long hair protecting her modesty – and, of course, she's dripping in jewels.

She posted the picture – in which she looks incredible, by the way – to Instagram, and it wasn't long before the nasty comments came rolling in.

"From head 2 toe, it's all PHOTOSHOPPED,o-o! PEOPLE AIN'T FOOLS!" one person tweeted, while another commented on Instagram: "Embrace yourself for who you are. It's time to say 'NO' to photoshop. It's also time to sing from the heart again."

But some fans were quick to rubbish the rumours that she'd altered the pictures at all, even providing evidence.

The singer, who is famed for diva moments and unusual demands for shows, told the magazine she inherits the diva aspect from her mother.

"My mother is an opera singer. And that's a real diva, you know – Juilliard diva. And so other people that are like, 'I'm a diva', it's like, 'Honey, you don't know what a diva is, you didn't grow up with my mom'."
