Yahoo News Mariah Carey Explains Why She Tweeted That "Thanksgiving Is Cancelled"
Mariah Carey may be the Queen of Christmas, but that doesn't mean she wants to see an end to all other holidays.
Yesterday, the iconic pop star posted a thread of puzzling tweets that had fans questioning if her account had been hacked.
"THANKSGIVING IS CANCELLED," Carey wrote, followed by equally vague statements such as, "RESTING IN PIECES," "THERE CAN BE MIRACLES," and "CALAMITY AND DOG HAIR."

"Baby what's going on," responded one fan, with others enjoying the seemingly random comments.
"Anti colonial queen," quipped another Twitter user, referring to the singer's Thanksgiving declaration.
Carey quickly cleared up the musing confusion, however, clarifying that her all-caps posts were merely chapters from her soon-to-be-released memoir, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.
"C'mon, I could never cancel Thanksgiving I just wanted to share a few chapter titles from my memoir #TMOMC," declared Carey.
Carey also responded to a fan who unearthed a vintage interview with the singer, in which she stated, "Thanksgiving is canceled."
"I feel like there's a bigger story here," wrote the fan.
"There is. #TMOMC," Carey responded, suggesting that the mystery would be further explained in her book.

The Meaning of Mariah Carey—which is set for a September 29 release via Andy Cohen Books—will reflect on the star's rise to stardom, her public relationships, personal struggles, and more.
"This book is composed of my memories, my mishaps, my struggles, my survival and my songs," Carey revealed in a message to fans ahead of the book's release. "Writing this memoir was incredibly hard, humbling and healing. My sincere hope is that you are moved to a new understanding, not only about me but also about the resilience of the human spirit."
