Mariah Carey Stops Her Amsterdam Gig To Battle With Electric Fans

Mariah Carey and the word ‘diva’ go together like mac and cheese, strawberries and cream or fish and chips - and that’s kinda why we love her.

The iconic singer showed her diva side as she performed in Amsterdam as part of her Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour too, pausing the show to battle with the on-stage air conditioning.

Having arrived 45 minutes late on stage, apologising to the audience at the Ziggo Dome and explaining: “We knew we had to be here, but it was my dear friend’s birthday,” Mariah later stopped things mid-set to moan about that age-old everyday problem of the electric fans blowing too much air in her face.

Something we also have to deal with day after day, of course.

According to The Mirror, she said: “Urgh, these fans, I just want to fix them. It’s just never how I want it.

“Don’t you think that if I want the fans to blow air appropriately then that’s what we need to have? Why are there so many things that I must do myself around here?”

Ab-libbing a song as roadies fixed the fans, Mariah told the audience: “That’s so much better now I can sing a song and try to sing it to every single person in here tonight.”

All’s well that ends well, right?
