Maricopa County Says Poll Workers Still Processing Hundreds of Thousands of Ballots

Poll workers in Maricopa County, Arizona, worked late into the night on Election Day verifying “tens of thousands” of mail-in ballots, with hundreds of thousands more to go, the elections department said.

Tabulation resumed at the facility at 9 am on Wednesday, with an estimated 400,000 votes still left to be counted, according to Maricopa County. More than 1 million votes had already been counted by Wednesday morning.

The department said it received approximately 275,000 early ballots on Election Day, compared to 2020’s election when it received 170,000.
