Mark Allen hits astonishing back-to-back 147s in exhibition and has the video evidence to prove it
Antrim snooker star Mark Allen is one of the finest players in the world and he proved that in an exhibition in England over the weekend with incredible back to back maximum breaks.
Despite being knocked off the world no.1 spot recently, Allen was at his very best in Alfreton, Derbyshire in front of a room full of snooker fans.
One of the highlights of Allen's career to date was his maximum 147 break at the Masters earlier this year but doing it twice in as many frames is on a whole other level, even if it was in a much smaller arena.

There may have only been less than 100 people in the room but anyone in attendance and Allen himself will never forget the evening as he pulled off the perfect frame twice in succession. That consists of potting all 15 reds with blacks and then clearing the colours for a maximum 147 break.
Most of the world's top players have pulled off maximum breaks in competitions over the years but never twice in succession. It is so rare that it is fortunate that Allen had video evidence to back it up and he posted that on X on Sunday night saying: "Excuse my positional play in the colours in max 2, back to back maxis last night in Alfreton exhibition…"
His social media post contained two videos, showing a sped up version of both maximum breaks. Let's hope his form continues as the snooker season heats up in the coming weeks.
One fan replied: " Class, up there with @McIlroyRory doing our wee country proud ur a credit to Northern Ireland"
Another said: "Talk about taking the piss, brilliant snooker Mark. Do that now in British Open and bring home the title!"
The World Snooker Tour is back in the UK over the next couple of weeks with the English Open in Brentwood followed by the British Open in Cheltenham.
“We’ve got a run of events back home now with the English, the British and Northern Ireland around the corner as well,” said the former world No.1, who kicks off his title challenge on Tuesday against Long Zehuang.
“I like the travelling and seeing places with Xi’an and Saudi, but it’s nice to be back in the UK.
“Brentwood’s a venue that doesn’t hold many happy memories for me so hopefully I can put that right this year.”
