Mark Robins' Leeds United comments after Coventry City loss will delight Elland Road diehards
Coventry City manager Mark Robins has tipped Leeds United to be "there or thereabouts" in the Championship promotion shake-up this season. Robins was full of praise for the Whites after their routine 3-0 win over the Sky Blues at Elland Road today.
Strikes either side of half-time from Wilfried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle and substitute Joel Piroe condemned City to a second successive league defeat. Defeat extended the Sky Blues' winless run to five matches.
"The fans expect them to kick on and go up," said Robins. "Leeds are different to us."

He pointed to United being in the Premier League as recently as 2023 and only missing out on an immediate return after losing to Southampton in the play-off final at Wembley back in May.
Robins said: "Leeds have sold over £100m worth of talent this summer and replaced them with good quality as well. Every club is similar in what they try to do with young players and developing them. Leeds have top players and should be there or thereabouts."
He admitted City struggled to get a foothold in the contest. "They hurt you in spaces if you commit too early," said Robins. "When you win the ball back, it wasn't the game plan to sit deep. We wanted to take part in the game, but we didn't do that. Poor quality on the ball.
"Mentality of taking the easy option at the moment, rather than the right option. We didn't do that well enough. At 3-0 down it's easier to start to play because there's no pressure, the game's gone."
