Mark Wright 'forever grateful' for wife Michelle Keegan after family's coronavirus ordeal

Mark Wright has shared how grateful he is to have wife Michelle Keegan in his life after his family’s COVID ordeal made him think about his priorities.

The radio DJ and footballer has spoken about the terrifying time his family have been going through, as both his parents and two uncles contracted coronavirus recently.

But Wright told Hello! magazine the trauma had made him realise how much he valued his marriage to the Brassic actor.

He said: "I've learnt what is most important in life, how important health is, how important family is. That is the number one happiness, the love around you.

"I am just grateful that I get to have her [Michelle] by my side every day, to have someone I can share my life with.

"To be with Michelle during these times has been incredible, and I'm forever grateful for that."

Wright, 34, has said his dad “wasn’t the same mentally” after his battle with COVID and that his uncles are still recovering but are making small improvements all the time.

In an emotional plea, he also asked his fans to take the virus seriously and stay at home as much as possible, saying that even some of his friends were in denial about its risks.

He and Keegan, 33, are currently self-isolating after 11 members of his football club Crawley Town tested positive for the virus.

It means his BBC Two fitness show Work Out The Wright Way will have its launch postponed by a week.

Last month, fitness fanatic Wright finally realised his dream of becoming a professional footballer when he made his debut for Crawley Town, along with his brother Josh.

The pair have also launched a fitness app together, Train Wright, and Mark has been signed up by Loose Women to help guide the show’s stars to their personal fitness goals.
