Mark Wright looks set to break America with a new presenting job that will see him head off to Hollywood in a few months.

After weeks of meetings with TV execs, the DJ and host has landed a role on US showbiz news show Extra.

Wright will join presenters Mario Lopez (who Nineties TV fans will recognise as AC Slater from Saved by the Bell), Tracey Edmonds and Charissa Thompson.

His first task will be a behind-the-scenes piece on former One Direction singer Niall Horan’s new solo music video.

If all goes well Wright could be looking at further work from Extra as well as other shows stateside.

He seemed to celebrate his new gig by posting an inspirational quote on Instagram that read “Never give up! You never know what is just around the corner”.

To which he added “Something I’ve learned first hand!! Never let anybody tell you any dream is too big!!”.

Meanwhile, Mark’s wife, actress and former Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan will also be spending some time away from home as she heads abroad to film critically-acclaimed war drama Our Girl.

Keegan returns as Corporal Georgie Lane, a female medic in the army in the new series of the BBC show which will be filmed in Nepal, Malaysia and South Africa.
