A new M&S treat which was hailed as being 'the product of the year' is being cleared off store shelves every day. Customers have been buying all of the boxes in stock at Liverpool stores within minutes of staff opening the doors for the day, the ECHO understands.

M&S is known for its innovative and decadent product launches, whatever the season. And 2025 is no different, with a range of tasty-looking chocolate treats already hitting stores ready for Valentine's Day next month, and Easter this April.

TikTok influencer Brandon Spatcher, 20, works in product development at the supermarket and frequently shares the latest product releases with his 150,000 followers. Last week, Brandon took to the social media app to share a round-up of all the latest food releases from M&S, with many products from the Easter range hitting the shelves already.

One of the most hotly anticipated new products to arrive in M&S stores this January is the pistachio rolled egg box, which has seen some shoppers specially requesting supermarket staff find them from the store's stockroom. Food bloggers and social media influencers took to TikTok to share their experiences of attempting to hunt down the product in stores.

The box contains five pistachio rolled eggs - which are Belgian chocolate eggs filled with a rich pistachio and white chocolate filling and then rolled in finely chopped pistachios for a crunchy finish. Brandon made a bold claim about the sweet treat, claiming: "This is the product of the year for me."

The ECHO visited a number of Liverpool stores in search of the popular product - but we were met with empty shelves each and every time. After being disappointed at the Speke Retail Park Food Hall, we spoke to a staff member who said shoppers have "gone mad" for the eggs, and claimed the boxes are cleared off the shelves within minutes of opening each and every day.

For shoppers who are unable to get their hands on the eggs, Brandon uploaded a taste test to offer an insight into what M&S fans might be able to expect if they are able to pop a box in their basket. Brandon said: "I've known about these for a while but I've not tasted them yet. There's five chocolate eggs inside and they smell incredibly good. They're covered in pistachio nuts. The pistachio tastes incredible, the chocolate also tastes insane and the added chopped pistachios around it as well makes it even better."

Shoppers took to social media to share their excitement about the product, with Instagram user thepurleygirly saying: "Really looking forward to getting my hands on these". Arli said: "New M&S pistachio eggs! SOOO good! Milk chocolate isn’t too sweet, there’s a lot of pistachio filling. I would have just preferred it to be a little creamier."

Another of the latest items to hit the shelves in the M&S Food Hall is 'pretzel party', a 200g tray which consists of a mixture of milk and white chocolate with crunchy salted pretzels, topped with mini chocolate eggs and candy-coated chocolate nibs. There is also an 'outrageously chocolatey biscuity-egg' which Brandon described as his 'absolute favourite chocolate Easter egg in the whole entire world'.

The giant egg marries thick and creamy milk chocolate with crunchy shortcake biscuit pieces for a truly indulgent treat. Fans of the M&S biscuit range will notice how similar this 375g treat looks to the 'extremely chocolatey' biscuits you can buy in a regular size from the retailer.

In the same section of the supermarket, another favourite biscuit has had the Easter treatment, with the custard cream biscuity egg offering shoppers the change to tuck into a giant version of their favourite biscuits. The product is made up of a layer of custard cream, combined with biscuit pieces and a milk chocolate topping.

A description on the M&S website says: "If you love our chocolate-covered custard creams, you'll love this Easter egg. Our Outrageously Chocolatey Custard Cream Biscuity Egg features a luxurious hollow milk chocolate shell, studded with crunchy biscuit pieces filled with decadent white chocolate and custard truffle."

There is also a range of character eggs this Easter, including Shaggy the Shetland, which is new for this year, and Ralph the Cavapoo. Stores will also soon be stocking a £10 'munch tin' weighing 500g and containing a mix of jelly fried eggs, jelly carrots, white chocolate and raspberry popcorn, milk chocolate pretzels and more.

In addition to the extensive Easter range which is already on shelves, there are also Valentine's Day products for customers to enjoy in the run-up to February 14 this year. For £6, shoppers can pick up the 'choc full of love' collection of chocolates, which are five luxuriously filled and decorated chocolate hearts, each with a different filling.
